I have a new video up on YouTube today and it was super fun to make. Playing with different and surprising materials is something I love to do. It was during a recent play session that I discovered that crinkled aluminum foil, when run through an embossing machine, retains a lot of its crinkled texture visually but is totally smooth to the touch!
The foil also has added durability after this process. You can't just pull gently and rip it - it stands up to manipulation much better than normal foil. Additionally, you can trim it, fold it, emboss it and add inks and paints to it (all of which is demonstrated in the YouTube video!) It really surprised me how much I could do with simple aluminum foil. Check out a few photos of the "paper" I was able to make and, if you are into them, I have a free download available below.
